Hang in there Buddy. Quiting your current job is probably not the answer. It may take a while but good things come to those who wait. I know it's easier said then done but "be happy". You know it could be a lot worse. Best of luck.

I feel your loss of family and experience it daily. Being away from ones child is probably one of the worst things a parent can experience. I'm thinking of you.
Will keep you and your family in our prayers. life is like a puzzle. I trust that God will make good things come from this bad situation. Remember the widow in Luke 18. Keep the faith.

Mike,
Its so hard to say anything that may give you any comfort. I think the guys all did quite well. Please never hesitate to use this forum, as it is for anything that you need prayers for.
Its so hard to be away from family as many of us know. Hang in there I am sure something will break for you soon. Will keep you all in my prayers and thoughts.

Mike! Hang in there. You never know what's around the next corner. Very hard looking for a job when you're working full time. Things will work out in time and maybe in a way you least expect it. Just hang in there and keep your chin up.

HUNTNDADDY
Your nickname says it all.
Hang tuff Mike for as long as you can.
I wouldn't advise leaving your current job until you "have the other bird in hand".
Been there, done that. Doesn't work too often.
It's tough for a young family, but sometimes it's what we have to do. Talk often with your wife, it will help her to understand and bear up under her load too.
Best of luck to you and yours Mike, and we'll be praying for you to find work within 30 miles of home.

And Debbie is right. If any of you have a problem that requires prayer, do not hesitate to post it. We know no one will abuse the privledge.

You and yours are in my prayers, for sure. Hang in there and try to get out when and if the weather warms up soon. Take a walk. It clears the mind and boosts energy and mood. Just what you need right now!

Huntingdaddy,
It sure broke my heart to read what you have been going through....glad you are feeling uplifted now. I was just thinking about how :
Another year is here....
a year in waiting, leaning, trusting, and of happy rest for those who rely on God.
2004 went so fast before our eyes....the weeks, the months...long gone for good...but the unused year of 2005 ahead where none of us have trod is a priceless gift directly from the "hand of God"
I guess anxiey makes us desire that "things" would happen as "we" wish....but we all know that everything works to the good for those who love the Lord....
"He" cares and understands.....

HuntnDaddy,
Will keep you in our prayers too.
I spent a lot of time in Lake City in my younger days. (still have friends & family there). Still ride my bike there a few times each summer, just to see the lake, & eat at the drive-in. LOL
A wonderful place, that holds lots of good memories.
It's one of the areas I consider" God's Country", so trust him to find the right slot for you there.

Im so tired of looking for work that I am going to go to get my cdl at a local school here in 5 weeks. The pay is great and a local school will allow me a local route around my freinds and family, the best part is the companies around here will pay back my school loan in monthly increments after 60 days. I havent had health benefits in about 8 years now and this will have all the benefits i need.
Also Jobs.com or Monster.com has been very good to my freinds in the technical feilds.....
Will pray that God will give you peace, calmness and confidence as you go through this process. Also will pray that the interview goes well for you and that you will receive a job offer from this employer. It sounds like the job may well be worth the wait as hard as that's been. Trust that God will provide what's best for you.
Man, I certainly hope this job works out. I have interviewed well over a hundred people over the years and the ones that make eye contact, have convidence and are not affraid to say "I don't know" instead of trying to bulls#$t there way through a question usually get my vote. Best of luck with the interview.

Mike, your obviously a man of good faith, and I believe that this job will be yours. They probably realize that the test they gave you doesn't fit into the normal tasks they would have you doing there. They were impressed with YOU, your skills and abilities. That my friend, means more than the test. At least it should. My continued thoughts for you and your family.
Hi Mike,
Will continue to keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Glad to hear the interview went well. As you said it's now in God's hands and he has good hands. Don't worry about the electrical test if it was that different I'm sure the company realizes it's not a good test of your ability to do the job. Keep believing that God will do what's best for you and your family.
Don, Amen. Thanks for sharing.

Don't be too worried about that test. Sometimes they do that to see if you'd be overqualified for a job these days. Hopefully that was their intention and the job will be yours. Best of luck in the next few days!
Will also continue to keep you and your family in our prayers.

MY buddy has been thru the same stuff all summer and went with a temp agency and is REAL happy with the third try now. Hes making 20 bucks an hour (mig welding)and works 25 hours a week overtime when he wants it and they have full benefits. Keep your chin up.
I know another kid that got hired off jobs.com in the same situation. They called him and hes making fat cash now in Cad operating. He was only in his first year of school...they didnt care theres a demand for them.
You can get your class b cdl for about 50 bucks and score some nice cash driving. As you know the driving jobs fill up half the classifieds. THeres lots of local routes and they are hurting for drivers right now. You can study for this one at home and dont need a school
If you have a snowblower...my retired deer camp buddy goes around asking buisnesses if they want there drive snow blowed. Hes got nothing else to do and made 400 this last weekend.
Right now you have a chance to go into buisness for your self doing the things you like ...maybe thats a direction to look into. They say the happiest people on earth do what they love for a living. Small buisness loans are among the easiest to get I hear. Your good at woood working and carving...wooden fish carvings and lures bring in lots of cash, chainsaw carvings on stumps are bigmoney, ice scupting , custom wooden signs, airbrush painting ...all big money very little investment. With ebay now you can start a buisness so easily doing what you love.
I hope this helps if not just ignore :))

Hey Mike,
Sorry to hear about your struggles, but real glad to know that you and your wife have a strong faith in the Lord. I hope you have at least one good close Christian buddy in your work location who can encourage you.
Your steadfast perseverence will be rewarded in ways that you might not even be able to imagine now, but you can be sure that your little ones know you are sacrificing to provide for them.
I'll keep your family in my prayers.

i thought i posted this before but it never made it somehow..
Dude start doing taxidermy. You love hunting and fishing dont you? Get the instructional videos and a air brush in the car model section at the toystore for 20 bucks and go to town.
Theres always great demand for it and they can never keep up and good money ...what they use for fish is that thick blue foam insulation. So if you see any of that in the river backwaters right now or contruction site scrap thats all you need.
I hope this helps.. if not ignore..and your still in my thoughts and prayers..

Theyre is such a market for it people have there regualar cutomers but theres always a lot of new cutomers too and people just want it done fast most the time. So you tell them 3 months turnaround to be able to take your time with it is all. You will be suprised how easy it is now with the new tecniques. ITs EEASSY I know you can do it. Start on ebay and look for instructional videos for 10.00. The stuffing a walleye video is good. I ve seen it and that same video is how a guy in Saginaw area started a full time lucrative buisness a few years ago. All he does is fish. ,,,Dztaxidermy. He keeps it basic and does real good basic colorings and touched up some scales with his airbrush and gold on the scales. He sells lots of stuff on ebay. a 20 dollar bottle of liqui tan can do about 5 walleye of 10 bluegills. Go for it man!!

I am so sorry to hear that things have not improved for you, and that it is now affecting your marriage/family too. I am somewhat at loss for words to comfort you, but "I can", and "I will" continue to uplift you and yours in prayer.
Fight the good fight of faith and remember:
There's no skill in easy sailing
When the skies are clear and blue.
There's no joy in merely doing
Things that anyone can do.
But there is great satisfaction,
That is mighty sweet to take
When you reach a destination
That you thought you couldn't make.
(Where 2 or 3 are gathered in His name...He'll be there too: Together we will pray and trust and be firm and stand fast till God answers.....)

HD You are in my prayers also. You both have a job, right? My hubby and I went through a time where he was working when I was home and I was working when he was home. We have now been married for 44 years. You guys can do it. Even tho you can't participate in the kids school activities right now does not mean it will be forever. Yours kids will understand this is just a now thing but not for ever. Hang is there, you two can do this. Don't let it get you down too much. That makes the situation even worse. I will be pulling for the two of you. Judy

THERE'S POWER IN PRAYER!!! PTL! I guess we don't understand how trials make us stronger each day, I guess we never will. But, God does have the answer for all of your heartaches that you have been going through, and it will be revealed to you...in His own time...in His own way.
So glad to hear you are feeling God's loving touch.
We'll just keep on keeping on praying...and trusting. The answer may not come today, but God will work it out for you. In His own time....in His own way.

Huntndaddy, so very glad to hear the progress your family has made. I am sure your 8 year old will adjust just fine. Especially since school will soon be out and he wouldn't probably be in contact with his friends a lot anyway. Don't let that bother you. I taught young kids for many years and they are very flexible. He just thinks so right before the move. He can always call or write them, remind him. Best of luck on your move. you sound like a great and caring dad. Judy
