Hello and thankyou so much for your thoughts and prayers. It really meant alot to me. My Mom passed away peacefully at 7:25pm. Her heart and breathing just slowed down and she was in no pain. You folks are super here.

Thanks so much. Today is a day of reflection on a life well-lived. She was an amazing woman, fantastic cook, great listener, and had so much love for her family and friends that it was overflowing. Now there is another angel in Heaven. She and my Dad are together at last for all eternity.

So sorry to hear of your mother's passing.
After the Darkness
After the darkness
The daylight shines through
After the showers
The rainbow's in view
After life's heartaches
There comes from above
The peace and the comfort
of God's healing love.
May God whisper words of comfort in your time of need.....

Thanks so much DGBAY. I printed that poem out and am including it on my photo board I've put together for the funeral home tonight. So many memories and so much love.

What a thoughtful quote...rings so true for me right now. Today was the funeral and it was surely difficult even knowing she is in a better place. I couldn't help remembering when I was a child and I would push a chair up to the kitchen counter and help her with whatever she was doing. Rather than shoo me away so she could get the task at hand done, she would gently guide me with a hug and a smile. Never criticizing or worrying about the mess made, I always felt welcomed and loved. Who else in your life did or does that for you but your Mom? Thanks Mom. Love and miss you so much, my heart is breaking.

I too feel for you Lisa. Randy's quote was quite powerful. It has been 10 years since I lost my closest sibling Colleen in a car accident. Thinking about her still brings a tear to my eye. I do agree with Randy that it does get easier with time. I spent so much time in the year after wishing I could have a few more days to say this or that, or for just a few moments of the great times we enjoyed together. I still miss her just as much but I spend much less time regretting and much more time remembering.
I started a journal shortly after, writing down all my memories so they would not be lost. Only once have I ever tried to go back and read them. It was too much, but it does me good to know that on my bookshelf there is a dusty journal that contains precious memories.
Best wishes, I gotta head clean myself up since writing about it always brings a flood of tears.
