Chicken.Two years ago that mass was on the opposite side of the tree.
and some more hens wanted me to take them home with me.

HOLY SMOKES!!!! That is awesome, my friend!!! If my wife saw something like that in the woods, she would go CRAZY! The chickens are her favorite. I'll be sure to show her that picture tomorrow. Great job, buddy! :thumbup:

White or yellow under side, makes no different Jason, finds of that size is all Eye Candy to me.Way to go, nice find.:thumbup:

I have seen the Inonotus dryadeus.Common name: Warted Oak Polypore on several old ,almost rotten stumps or bases of trees. Whether or not the ever had hens growing on them i do not know. This is only my 5th shrooming season. Have never lost a hen tree to this warted oak polypore yet. Who knows what may happen ??
