some one was telling me today that every three years they dig up there rhubarb and break the root ball up in to thirds and replant it, ive done nothing with mine and it grows really good every year.anyone ever heard of this and what it may acheive? or do you do anything special to your rhubarb?

Gooch, it isn't necessary to do that, unless you wish to expand your growth and yield of it, rhubarb roots can become very woody, and need to be sawed in half after a long period,so if ya are happy with the amount you are getting now, let it grow, if ya want more of it, then it is time to divide the roots, but a good rule of thumb is after a division is done, you must wait a full year to harvest, from either part of the division,mike
