When i lived in over thata way , i
would venture over to the allegan dam area. allegan state game area.

poplar tree's are fairly easily recognized. look for website links on identifying trees by there bark patterns... easier said than done though for me sometimes!!! Good luck!!!

yankee springs is not too far from you it is heavily hunted but you will be able to find shrooms

there are some blacks up now but more rain will really help get a barry county map and check out all the state land popplar and cherry trees also in a few weeks dead elm trees will produce

I understand where your coming from, Jon. The "spots" mentioned in this post really are quite vague. I live in the area being discussed and there is a LOT of state land in this area. Granted, your right...I don't want everyone in the state checking around here, but Alan wasn't being very specific. Yankee Springs Rec Area is HUGE. So is the Allegan State Game Area.

And anyway...There are no mushrooms in either of those areas, so no need for anyone to come looking! :wink:
