Toxic fooler
2 Attachment(s)
I came upon a large and two small mushrooms growing next to a corn field.

Upon examination the largest had an obvious green tinge to the gills. However, the two smaller ones had a pink red coloring. I did a spore print on the two smaller ones and observed a green spore print.

Be careful, all mushrooms are not what they seem.

Hi, I'm new to mushroom identification, but I'm assuming the one you found was the False Parasol (Chlorophyllum molybdites ), and you were originally looking for the Shaggy Parasol?

Thanks for the information! I'm a noobie. Lol.

Yes. They look alike to me but the pink or red is usually a sign they are edible.

I have a lot of them in my back yard (Shaggy Parasols) that i harvest in the fall and sometimes in the spring. The neighborhood is full of the toxic lookalikes.

Yeah, for sure malibdites. Shaggies are more scaly with dark ridges except for the buttons & found in woods. Assume you found these growing on grass?? Hers a pic of shaggies but still early for them now.
