I found something that looks similar but haven't identified it yet. Off the cuff I suspect what I have is different but I haven't keyed it out yet. I put it down for a sport print and its a medium brown with a slight olive tint. Have you tried a spore print yet?

Boletus zelleri? Naw... Must mean something else. I STILL haven't taken the time to key mine out - LOL. However, something neat about my specimen, check out the closeup of the rhizomorphs. Ok - not the greatest closeup but I thought it was neat... LOL. Boletus zelleri

Re: what are these?

Both look like Lactarius sp. to me. Vance may have a deliciosa. The pumpkin orange "sap" and hollow stipe should confirm or deny.
The first one is commony found along with lobsters in my area. Lactarius deceptivus if I'm not mistaken.

Little early for both but I found an old deliciosa last week. The cool temps are to blame I think.

When I spotted mine I thought Lactarius but there wasn't any latex. Here's a cross section photo... you can even see where I ran the tip of my knife across the gills checking. Nothing from the flesh nor the gills. I did some research last night and was starting to think some sorty of waxycap but the spore print is wrong.

Re: what are these?

My best guess is Clitocybe geotropa or another one of the Clitocybe subspecies.
