An average whole day of hunting usually consists of two 5-6 hour jaunts in the woods. A half day would be one 4-6 hour hike and a quick look would be 2-3 hours.

I just saw one of the scarlet tanagers. Pulled up to park in my jeep and it just sat there, less than ten feet away, for a good 45 seconds. As pretty as any bird I've ever seen.

As of yesterday the typical Mesick ash forest isn't ready yet. Always good exercise though, those hills are ridiculous. Hopefully a couple sunny days will get them going before all the hunters show...

Even if the burn area isn't producing, there are plenty of good woods in the area. I've only ever heard of blacks being picked in a burn so if they have fizzled out head north a few miles.
