Although it does seem dry on the surface, we did recieve 2 inches of rain so far this month, so I think the moisture is adequate. Starting to find some around Kalamazoo.

OK, 2-in depth soil temps are reaching the upper 40's in the daytime, back down to the upper 30's at night....

The closest to Wayland would be Yankee Springs Recreation area.
Pretty large area, but I haven't been out there myself to hunt.

It's my understanding that burn areas are best out west in mountain areas,
but not much proof for heavy burn finds for midwest moreling.
I've tried a few and not had much luck.
