Haven't really hunted for much outside of morels and phesant backs. Whats out there this time of the year?

It wont take that long this year. I grew up near Kendallville. They have increased the speed limit on 131 up to 75 and people do about 85. Only took us 3 hours from Goshen last week.

They are just getting started. Not sure if it will be a good black season with the recent nights of frost but we just picked 174 last weekend near cadillac.

Its still just a touch early up there. The ground coverage is going to be much more green than normal years in that area. Some spots still are completely brown depending on the direction the hill is...

Found a dozen or so fresh big yellows today. Season isn't over by any means. this rain will help and next weekend early into next week should be good too.

That would be awesome bbrue... i almost feel lost in the woods these days... I am used to walking from ash to ash to ash to pick bags full and now it takes a mile just to find an ash tree thats...

We visited the Jordan Valley last weekend... The ground was very dry and we left empty handed. We spent the majority of the time near cadillac and didn't find a thing there either.

We searched in Brighton park down by Ann arbor today and found a few. Then went down by Jackson and wound up with a couple dozen half frees. Yeah it's just early/messed up year for the blacks up...

Ok so i got out there on lunch to take pictures and they are not Chants. They don't have gills and are porus. I'm betting they are Chicken Fat Suillus. Here are some pics i took.
