My area the morels are turning to the oaks for life. Specifically the pin oak. Also I've found them just along the borders of woods fields

Just read an article that says ill, general assembly just passed a law stating that in fall of 2017 you will have to purchase a 25$ mushroom permit. Like a freaking deer tag are you kidding me!!!!...

Yes jeff, I find those every year in one of my spots always under Autumn​ olive. They have a more elongated sponge look than the regular greys.

I'm not sure anyone has ever had good luck with dead ash producing, I think once they die, the morels have no nutrients. Although the morel is a very mysterious fungi it grows where it wants to but...

Don't be discouraged, there is great spots available,some you have to go off the beaten path for. Not all morels grow by certain trees, I've found them everywhere, patients and observation are two...

I hunt woods with flocks of turkey, not sure I ever seen evidence of them eating but if a flock scratches through the area I have seen them broken off quite a bit. Deer don't eat them as much as...

Spot on. I have been finding grey and yellow around oaks since the ash went, and I believe the morels have a more distinguished nutty flavor when found by oaks

I have found yellows and Grey's near dead ash this year!! They were by ash trees that have never produced before. I also have been finding them by oak and honeysuckle this year.

I'm guessing here by Scott in NW Ohio we should see some blacks by Wednesday next week. Not slot of undergrowth, but in Ohio our main problem is usually it's all knee high before the shrooms start....

I've been hunting mushrooms long enough to understand they will grow when and where they feel like, clay, trees, loamy blacksandy soil ,sandy soil all boils down to nutrients and the way the stars...

Repel and off came out with a new spray designed to target ticks and other bugs it's at Walmart and meijer it's a red lid can and says TICKS in big letters on the front I have been using it all...

Here's one for ya. My brother in law found 30 fresh yellows today about 10 days later than should have been, they were in sand now I could understand darker soil but on a Sandrine in a woods near old...
