No. And I've been in woods full of giant black oak often cause of deer hunting. It's a common tree near me.
No hedgehogs so far either - but I have not given up hope, yet.
Ground may not be that...

I just looked and Smith lists our giant puffball as one of the better edibles. I can't explain that.

I'll mention a few, but I live mostly in deciduous forest. In rough order of my desires:
1) Black trumpet. Not common as I'd like near me (Wastenaw and Jackson). Moss.
2) A bolete much like Boletus...

I made my first blueberry pie yesterday. Jackson county. High-bush. It's just the first few berries that are ripe. I'm worried it's gonna be a tough year, but haven't visited enough places yet. ...
