We usually get a few dozen of them roosting in the backyard spruces for one night right on April 1. This year, they swarmed in around the beginning of March, and then again on March 31.

I think our only real choice is to let Nature (as stressed by accidental or other global trade in species) take its course. If the aspens fill in the gaps in the ash, perhaps we'll have more spots...
