I went back today and took some more photos.
The mushrooms are growing on a living Black Cherry tree (though the portion they are growing on appears to be rotten), and are about 15 feet off the ground, so too high to harvest,(so it really doesn't matter if they are edible or not.) However, the hillside the tree grows on also has some ash trees (not visible in any of the photos), and I'll have to check this area out in the spring when it is morel time.
Most of the trees are Black Cherry and American Elm in the photo...on the other side of the road is a grove of Austrian Pine trees. I have never looked for morels at this location.
