Calling on my friends again.
Well, now I will have to use this section of the forums for a second time. It's never good when you have to use this, but it's great knowing there are so many friends that I can count on in a time like this. My wife's mother called last night to let us know that Brenda's cousin, was going in for brain surgery this morning. Apparently he has been experiencing headaches for the last couple weeks, and then on Tuesday he was overcome with such a dizzy spell, he went right to emergency. They did a CT Scan and found the tumor. It is right at the base of his brain where the spinal cord meets with the brain. It does not appear to be cancerous, which is GREAT! Of course, they won't know for sure until after the operation. But, where the tumor is, there are a number of risks. His speech could be lost or affected. He could lose motor skills, or even be paralyzed. And just to add to the whole scene, about five years ago, his brother died of sleep apnea at the age of 32, leaving behind his wife and two young children. This is Brenda's, Uncle's only other son, and it is a very tough time for him, and the rest of us. We should have information as the day goes on. I will be sure to update everyone. I hope things continue to go well, coming from a family of survivors I feel your pain just remember that you need to keep positive through it all no matter how hard it is. I remember back when they told us our daughter might not make it and how we just thanked God for what time he had gave us with her now she is a four year survivor and hopefully with God there you will be able to see through God is good all the time

Brandt,
Prayers for Brian and for Brenda, you and the entire family are on the way. I too, hope the condition is the result of the chemo (rough stuff) and not the cancer itself. George

It's been awhile and I have good news to report! The doctors are cautiously optimistic, but the cancer seems to be in remission! They say it is very uncommon for a case such as this to be slowed or halted the way it has, but that is what the power of prayer is all about! Thank you again, everyone for your thoughts and prayers!

Brian went in for a scan last Tuesday and just got the results. STILL NO CANCER!! It's a very good early Christmas gift for him and his family. Thank you again, everyone for the thoughts and prayers.

Who would've ever thought that just two little words could make such a difference in a family's life? And what a HUGE difference between "it's cancer" and "NO CANCER"!! Brandt, thanks for the great news!! It truly will be a Merry Christmas!
