Re: Are your tomato late this year?
Well,,, Blight or something, has also hit my potted basil.
The plants were healthy until I put them out side for a couple of weeks. I noticed some small spots & holes on them after only a few days, but thought bugs. Wrong. I brought them in when the cold temps were going to hit, and the leaves are turning dark and falling off faster than I can believe. It's not my watering either. Bummer! Seems the blight was in the air, and when I thought I would improve my plants as usual by out door life, I ended up killing them. I know tomatoes blight and basil blight isn't supposed to be the same, but maybe various blights were so prolific this year, that it included all of them. Glad I didn't garden this year I guess. At least I don't have burn everything. LOL ---------------------------------------------------- 10/05/2011 After some searching on the net I think what hit my basil plants outside was Downy Mildew. A new basil blight that has invaded the US in the past 2 or 3 years and is spreading.
