first washtenaw co. finds

hey all, here are my modest first finds from this year in washtenaw county. can someone verify that one is a half-free? it was my first potential half-free find so i wasn't entirely sure. didn't eat it -- i heard they're edible?

Also, would you call those four bigger ones blacks or grays? I've only ever found yellows until now.

still getting the hang of this whole thing, but this is the first year i'm consistently finding them!

Thanks!

Davey

Yes greys, yes half free. Half frees are a good edible, I used to find a lot of them. Do your research on verpas though, they very often are mistaken for half frees, and even yellows. Nice job!

Re: first washtenaw co. finds

thanks all. can anyone ID this tree/sapling? I found these morels under a mix of these in various sizes -- there also seemed to be a few elms and possibly cherries mixed in as well, though the morels didn't seem to be associated with any one type of tree. the whole area is a relatively dense, shrubby zone with sandy soil. not the easiest hunting!
