It's already been said twice what I was thinking when I read your post and looked at the pics...so here goes 3 times. Pick em' and give em' to your friends!(Especially to the ones that won't go out and pick em' theirselves!!!!!

You are wondering if you should pick those trashy morels??? Why of course--and they will probably taste better than any!! Go for it, because if you don't pick them, I will . . . !!

What a shame! Those poor little morels, makes you kind of feel sorry for them!

We found some huge, beautiful morels in the middle of a city but we didn't pick 'em, too much grime around.
But, if yours were in the woods, they should be less polluted. You might just have to overcook 'em and kill the germs! LOL

We have a friend who told everyone where we took him hunting, I'd feed them to someone like him. I mean it.

You know when I first saw what was "fruiting" next to my morels, I immediately took out the camera and thought of you guys. Something told me this would be a very enlightening and entertaining thread. Thank you for not disappointing.

In the end, I did what any respectable morel hunter would do, I mixed them in with the large batch I give to my boss every year for allowing me such a flexible schedule the month of April. Afterall, what he doesn't know won't hurt him. and lord knows I have taken enough of his crap over the years.
