Re: gps

If you fish, one that will accept a lake maps card would be a bonus....I don't know the brand but from what I understand is you pull up the lake you want and it'll give you water depth any where you are on the lake along with bottom contours.

Re: gps

I have the Garmin e-trex H , Basic model and i've had it on in the house during BLIZZARD conditions this winter and have never lost signal !!! Have yet to try it in thick cover but i
don't think I should have problems.I also had no idea how to use one , but this one seems to be very user friendly, I had it figured out pretty quickly !!!

Re: gps

I bought a new garmin last year. It is the etrex venture hc and I'm thrilled with it. It said that it would get better reception in deep cover and it does. Previously I had the Map76 from Garmin and it lost reception constantly, especially if the batteries weren't fully charged. I love my gps and I need it. I get turned around so fast when I start wandering around trees. Also, the deals on gps are awesome right now, That's about the only nice thing about the terrible economy, there are good deals to be found.
