Are these oysters?

Are these oysters/edible? I've been finding these on dead and live trees. Any info would be helpful. Thanks. Rich

Re: Are these oysters?

Mike, sorry I forgot to say. The first photo is the top and the second photo is the bottom/side. They are the same individual mushroom. Thanks. Rich

Re: Are these oysters?

I just read about these on mushroom-collecting website. They say that these are edible and even tasty if cooked correctly. Has any one here had experience eating these? I have encountered quite a few of them while looking for morels but just passed them buy. Like to give them a try.

I've eaten them before, but I don't really care for them much. I'm sure anything cooked the right way can taste good though.
