Tamale Casserole

Tamale Casserole

1 Lb cooked and drained ground beef
¼ C. chopped onions
1 (4 oz.) can diced green chiles
1 (11 oz.) can enchilada sauce
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 can celery soup
1 dozen corn tortillas (Mission works best)
1 C shredded cheddar cheese

Combine beef, onions, chiles, sauce and soups in a bowl.
In a 9 X 13 pan, spread a small amount of the mixture to coat the bottom of the pan. Alternate layers with the tortilla shells and the rest of the meat mixture. Top with cheese. Bake 30 minutes at 300 degrees.
Serve with sour cream.


I usually double this recipe for my family and sometimes add cheese to the layers. We like it either way, but the above recipe is the basic way to make it.
