Rattlesnake Plantain...

A very cool orchid. They aren't flowering yet, couple of weeks yet I'd suppose. Neat find...

Will try to Mike. I'm planning on checking the plants either tomorrow (Tuesday) or this weekend. With all the rain we've had I would be shocked if they haven't started to bloom. I'll post pics when I get them.

Re: Rattlesnake Plantain...

Went back yesterday and I've either missed the bloom altogether or they haven't yet. I found one that had a dried up bloom stalk on it but the rest were bare. These could be first year plants which, if I am correct, don't bloom until the second year. We'll see...

I used to think that orchids only grew in other parts of the contry/world.
Then i found out there were a few i could grow "indoors at home". Now i know that there are many that grow in Michigan. Most orchids i have seen have amazing blooms. Hope you get to see this one!

What's even cooler is while on the way through the woods to find these we found a showy ladyslipper. I'll post pics probably Friday. Yes, some very neat orchids in Michigan.
