GPS

Anyone out there use a GPS to mark where you find mushrooms?
I don't have a GPS but I was wondering if that would be a good idea?

Thanks,
Steve from Indiana

Re: GPS

I don't have one myself but I know I've read a number of discussions were people do use a GPS. Great idea in my opinion, just haven't spent the money.

Re: GPS

Thanks Vance.
Do you have "favorite" places to hunt?
Last year I went to Boyne (long drive).... since I live in Fort Wayne, Indiana I was wondering if you "ole pros" had a location closer to Indiana?
Thanks,
Steve

Unfortunately you're talking to a guy who has much better luck finding poison oak than he does finding morels. LOL Can't figure it. Oysters, chickens, chantrelles, corals, and even a few other edibles I seem decent enough at but morels just escape me for some reason. Hoping to change that this year.

Re: GPS

its never too much of a drive to hunt morels, is it? i always go above gaylord each year, usually twice .only 550 miles each way from here. i drive a lot further for much less important things i quess.my wife might disagree sometimes, but its all a matter of opinion.i hear there are a good many morels in your area.

Re: GPS

Yeah that's a good point. For me I would drive and stay even further and longer but my wife thinks it's too much of a waste of time.

Hopefully, I'll find a bunch and convince her otherwise.
