My girlfriend & her 36 year old horse.

I'd like to ask my friends to keep her in your thoughts, she has to put her good ole horse down tomorrow . He's had a VERY long life & she's toughing it out like the strong woman she is. :(

Hi Jon, will keep her in my thoughts and prayers. Having had horses, hers has lived to a ripe old age and deserves to rest in peace free of pain. Know she is doing what is best but it is really hard to do.

I will be thinking of her tomorrow, Jon. A lot of people say, "It's just a dog." Or, "It's just a horse." No. It's a member of the family. She's lucky she has been able to create the memories she has over that amount of time. She's lucky she has you there to help her out.

What a wonderful gift to have owned a horse that long.

Our animal companions are so much more that just animals.

Reminds me of a paper I wrote in college, "my Dog-My Therapist".

I've never been a horse person, but I assume the relationships are similar.

Thoughts & prayers are with you,

I am s sorry to hear that she lost her horse. 36 years is sure a nice long life for a horse, so now he and Secritariat are in the same green pastures. Hope your girlfriend will be able to get another one soon.
