Anyone use gps for mushrooming

I started finding them last week at my deer camp. I had my gps with me, I started the tracking feature and took off on my 8 acres. I found a few, all still small, I marked each location with the gps, and a small piece of blue tape, and I'll check on them in a few days.

The gps will not pinpoint exactly where they are , but it will put me within 6 - 7 ft of it, then I'll see the tape.

When I got home I downloaded all the information into Google Earth
and it took me right to my property and because the tracking feature was on , it shows me everywhere I went while I was looking.

Now I have a map of every mushroom I found and every where that I have looked so far.

I will keep on using it in my hunts, and then I will save that information to make a final map that I can use next year.

This is my first year using gps but I sure can see lots of uses in mushroom hunting.

We definitely use the gps, helpful in finding your way back to car (but we also take a compass) and then we use the gps to log the lattitude and longitude where we had good finds.

I personally use a gps dont want to find a hot spot and forget how to get to it the next yr. I get a little farther off the beaten path than others though.
