Hens In central mi

Had a ruff start finding hens but I seem to have got it figured out. Got into a good woods today and pulled 8 in no time. Left 6 that were past prime and about 7 or so to get bigger. Made a chicken noodle soup the other night with hens instead of chicken and it was extrodinary!!! Good luck.

Awesome find! I have yet to find any but I may have found some young ones?? The ones you posted look awefully similar to the ones I found at the base of a stump in the woods next to my inlaws place.

There were some I left that were about the size of a silver dollar. acouple were maybe tennis ball in size. Found these in an hour of looking. When you find some by you look at the tree you found it at. I have found all mine by looking for the oaks with lower limbs than normal. I think the target oaks branch out lower imo. Like only a 10ft trunk! Hope this helps

I have only seen adults and never saw a juvenile hen before. Are they really whitish grey colour?

Dunno, they were on a rotten stump lol.......it looked like it could be either an old oak or maple tree but it was too far gone to pinpoit for sure. They were about the size of a baseball and had pedals on them but they were not all tight in a ball shape like I thought juvenile ones would look like.
