Chicken Fat /:slippery Jacks
What do you think. Can these be Chicken Fat/Skippery Jacks. They were in my yard near my pines. Came up over night. Brown spores and yellow body.

Re: Chicken Fat /:slippery Jacks
I've only found a couple slippery jacks or jills this year. Found a lovely suillius today.. a pair of them. I left my cord in the car so I can't connect my phone to my pc right now or I'd post a picture. Guess I could send it to myself in email. Or try to upload it on my phone which is easier said than done when you're old and technophobic!

Took ten pounds slippery jacks today. Photo shows about 8lb. One place in particular had very high densities - not sure why. Perhaps previous red pine deaths in the area. About half still had veil covering tubes.

Re: Chicken Fat /:slippery Jacks
We did very well on the slippery jacks this weekend at the Highland Recreation MMHC foray. Also cleaned up on the Mouse Ears (Tricholoma myomyces).
I checked my local woods yesterday and found nothing. Picked a few Flammunlina velutipes. |
