Ben, it was interesting for the fight, but he hit my chub line with 6 lb test on the the hand over hand pole, took a 5 inch chub at about 20 feet down, slammed the pole onto the ice, thats how I knew I had em,mike

Ben, its one of the old time ice poles, with the v shaped legs, 2 eyelets, and the line wraps around the hard wire strand in the handle, chip the ice away and but the handle into the hole, then cover with snow, and place the v legs back at a 45 degree angle, so the lightest pressure on the bait, causes the legs to collapse and the pole slap hard onto the ice so ya can hear it while jigging for pans or just daydreaming of the summer, mike

Made it out yesterday to my perch spot. Ice was about 8 inches. Took 25 from just under 10 inch to 13 3/4 inch. Heading back Monday if the weather permits. I have no shanty. I can handle cold as long as it's not to windy. I found this spot 3 years ago looking for bluegills. I have yet to see anyone fishing there. You all know if I stated the lake it wouldn't be MY Spot anymore.

Gary, If anyone here wants info on trout/salmon fishing on the bays. I tournament fish and have good knowledge of the bays. I'm willing to share. But Jumbo perch on a inland lake. I'll keep that to myself. I met a guy on-line a few years ago. I had a great time taking him out.
