Some Spring Photos

Here are some of my photos from the woods and surround areas in S. MI
Hepatica is blooming around the normal time. Trillium are up but not blooming yet, and depending on the location, Mayapples are coming up or are already up. Dogwood is getting ready to bloom, Serviceberries are blooming, Bloodroot is blooming, and Skunk Cabbage has been out for awhile. The Skunk Cabbage and Hepatica are normal, but everything else is coming out several weeks early, especially the Marsh Marigolds, which usually bloom here in late April.
I've noticed that usually the Hepatica leaves, which are evergreen, are usually turned purple by the cold, but this year they are quite green, as I don't recall ever getting below 10 degrees this past winter.

Re: Some Spring Photos

Nice shots Jeff. That is one thing I miss about the Muskegon area... earlier springs. Not much growth yet here. Squirrel corn and Dutchmen's Breeches are up but not flowering. Spirea and other shrubs leaf-ing out, a few flowers where and there... Also, don't believe it got south of 10 degrees here either.

The best lessons are those learned before you wish you had known better, especially when thinking edible mushrooms.
