Wood Tick Removal

I just discovered I was carrying an unwanted guest, a Wood Tick.
I had picked several off of myself after leaving the woods, but I missed one and it attached to me.
Here is a link on how to remove wood ticks, which came in handy for me.

I got it all out and didn't crush it. I cleaned the area afterwards.

This is probably the fourth time I have had to do this...it seems it happens once every ten years to me. So I guess I'm good for another 10 ...hopefully.

Wood ticks are really bad this year.

Re: Wood Tick Removal

Just a warning, that if you hunt in SW MI. you will more likely than not encounter some wood ticks. So far this year I have picked probably close to 30 from myself, most of which I did in the field, about 5 or 6 of them made it home and got flushed down the toilet.

This is the first year that I've had a problem with them, as I typically find 10 or so throughout the season-one or two every trip to the woods or field.
I went out looking for asparagus today(found 1 spear) and picked up over a dozen ticks.
