Mushroom Kit - Easter Present...

I was at our local Meijer doing some last minute shopping for the kids' Easter basket... I found these and picked up one for my son. They were cheaper and the priced listed here...

I'll have to look for these next time I am at Meijer. I have 2 stores within 10 miles of me, in Benton Harbor and Stevensville.
BTW, where at in the store do you find these? In the garden center (seasonal) area?

when you start to see pins take a spray bottle and lightly mist the brick and fan it with a piece of cardboard for a few minutes.

does that help it absorb the water better? seems like it takes a lot to penetrate the surface

The evaporation is what will cause more pins to start. It takes a lot of water because mushrooms are like 90% water so they suck a lot of moisture up from the brick. You could dunk the brick in water and that would help it too... You would be better off controlling the environment better for them too... Look into building a simple tub terrarium for them.
