tree and plant identification forum

I read a question in the instant messaging asking if there was a tree identification forum on the site. To my knowlege there is not but I think it would be a great addition to the site. I think it would be helpful for everyone to have a forum where the members of this site could contribute real-world photos of trees and plants that are favorable to mushroom habitat.

At times I find it difficult to identify trees and plants from books alone. Sitting on my desk right now is a copy of "Trees of Michigan" by Stan Tekiela, which is a fine book but the photographs of bark are tiny and lack the degree of detail neccessary - at least for me - to confidently identify some trees. The particular field guide I have only shows the trees in a mature state of development making it especially difficult to identify saplings.

There is a wealth of knowlege and years and years of combined experience on this site and such a forum would be one more great way to tap into it.
