Don't reheat mushrooms?

http://www.countryliving.com/food-dr...ouldnt-reheat/

What do you think about this?

"In general, mushrooms, should be eaten and finished right after preparation. Proteins can deteriorate as soon as you cut them up, and that's bad news for your belly."

I reheat all the foods in that short article and can't say I've had any ill effects.

Celery, Spinach and Beets:
"Heat can cause the nitrates of these veggies to turn toxic—and release carcinogenic properties—when they're heated up a second time" Ok.. so what if you reheat it for a 3rd time?

I'm thinking of all the hen soup I have in the freezer, full of celery and well.. mushrooms.

Re: Don't reheat mushrooms?

This is just my personal opinion, but I think they are a few cards short of a full deck, and I don't know anyone who would agree with their article. I would think heating the food back up would kill any type of germ it may have acquired. If you left it out unrefrigerated for several days in full sun, it probably will be spoiled, and it won't matter what you do with it, except dump it.....🍄

I'm with you, Jack. Properly prepared and stored food has no more risk than fresh prepared.
The last line of the warning on chicken sums it up, and makes the whole article irrelevant.

" so if you'd prefer to reheat your meat, make sure that it's thoroughly cooked; the inside should be piping hot!"

DUH! LOL
