buying morels

ok since I cant find them this year the next best thing is to buy them. Being its morel festival time in meseck anyone know if there will be some for sale as I am only 2 ish hours away and I REALLY want at least one meal this year. I wont buy from store as I tried that once and they don't have the flavor that "real" morels have.

thanks
Cory

Re: buying morels

Check Craigslist, there are always a few people selling them, seem to be a little cheaper than what I see them for in Mesick....

Re: buying morels

They will be selling them, if they can find them. We are bone dry and only have heard of one family member finding 5.... yes 5 morels this year

Last time I was in Mesick, there was a guy selling morels, but what he mostly had was Verpas.

Re: buying morels

People get away with it because there's a lot of people out there that don't have a clue and they get caught up in all the hype. Too bad for them, hopefully they will learn before they get sick or die.
