Re: Avatar/ online name origins...

haha. A shlub is pretty much an insulting name lol. simple, stupid, lazy, (insert similar words here). I just added the Y to the end to personalize it! It's be my online identity since I was probably 13.

My funny online name came from Mom & Dad when I was born.

For some reason after I was delivered, they looked at the doctor and said, "Be Frank Doc.

That name has stuck with me to this day.

Dots...for....Jon.....<grin>

Mine is just referring to the area where I live. This is the first and only message board I have ever done, so it may be a little too specific.

Re: Avatar/ online name origins...

Years ago I told a joke to my friends at a party. It was about a truck driver who picked up a good looking young female hitchhiker. She sat in the truck silent reading a book for several miles. The truck driver asked her what she was reading. She replied it was a book about sex. The trucker asked her what it said. She replied that it said American Indians have large 'twigs' and Amish guys have big 'berries'. The trucker then said "Hi, my name is Tonto Yoder". Since my grandfather was raised Amish and I'm a large man, my friends coined the name.

I have had a lot of Chevy SS models. In 2003 I bought a Silverado SS. I then joined a newly formed Silverado SS forum. People were using their first names followed by SS. Been using since.

I couldn't think of an online name, so I used the first letter of my first name and added it to my last name, Ochs. My avatar is one I created last year on Memorial Day weekend up in Manistee National Forest after finding two nice yellows. That is about the 9th or 10th photo I took (using my tripod and the self timer on my camera.) I had to find a spot where the sun was shining on me. I focused the camera on the ground where I was standing, then hit the timer so my face would be more or less in focus. After about 6 or 7 photos, I put the clip-on sunglasses on my glasses to hide my crossed eyes. I have never been able to get both of my eyes to look in the same direction.
