My Mushroom Camp Friends

Something has happened recently and I guess Im ready to share it here, you'll all probably understand by the time Im finished. I started this camp in 2004 after my first year in 2003 which blew my socks off. I wanted a camp that didnt kill anything, where friends could camp together and share our new found friend, the morel mushroom. Since 2004 we now entertain around 70 to 80 friends per season and growing.(Word of the good times gets around fast). Well, we have lost 2 of our friends recently. My good friend Susan died unexpectly recently, she was 47. Im gonna shorten this up cause I could go on and on. Her husband the day she died wanted to go to camp to get her rock. I have my guest make a rock for our firepit. I didnt realize how important such a little thing as a rock would mean to someone at such a time. Her funeral was based around morel mushrooms because she had grew to love it as I have. Anyways RIP Susan and Uncle Jim, we will miss you but maybe you can help guide me to the motherload, loves yas.

Barb, we are so sorry to hear of Susan's passing.
I'm glad we met her. She struck me as someone who is fun to be around.

Our condolences to you and Susan's family.

Sorry for your loss. Will be praying for all involved.

It seems the traditions such as you have begun, are the big reasons most people hunt 'schrooms, game, fish, motorcycle, etc. The actual activity becomes secondary to the relationships & camaraderie of participants.

God bless,
