Double stemmer

Forgot to add this to my last thread....I find quite a few of these...

Wow!!!!! Have never seen anything like that before, seen one once that grew inside the other and came out the side of the outer cap, but nothing like that, Congrats Gary and a nice photo to prove it , mike

We've found a few like this over the years too Gary.

It looks to me like the stem was somehow split/danaged in early growth and then just self healed itself by closing up each side.

Haven't found one like that, but a few years ago, Jeff and I found several that were two morels on top, but with only one stem.

I'll see if I can't find a pic or two...

The vary rare Morchella bipedalesculenta.
Very fast and hard to catch when they are on
the move.
