Need help identifying shrooms please

The first 2 pics are of the same mushroom and were about 3-4in tall with a meaty stalk

The second fungi pics were interesting and I saw someone with a picture of them on here but no clue as to what they are. I have been an outdoors enthusiast since I could walk but never saw these before. Can anyone help me on this one?

The next 3 pics of a trumpet looking shroom look old but they were everywhere I stepped it seemed like.

These 2 pictures of the same fungi almost looked like snot to me and were hanging off a deadfall (possibly beach or cottonwood tree).

Any help identifying these would be great and are any of them edible?

The first one looks like an amanita. Deffinetly not edible!!! The white fungus on the log with the teeth is a bears head tooth. Very tasty when picked all white like in the picture. Do not try it if it is stained or yellowing. The "trumpet shaped shrooms" is a past prime form of lactarius. Probobly not edible even when fresh. You could benifit greatly by getting a good field guide. Amizon has a used section that i buy all my books in. You can buy a 37.00 book for around 10.00 shipping included. I got my audobon book for 5.00 shipping included!!!

Re: Need help identifying shrooms please

Thanks, I know that I need a book for sure if I want to harvest more than morels and hens but at this moment I am not able to purchase a book. I am just looking for the very easily identifyable mushrooms that are edible and hard to confuse with anything else around.

I also just find it fascinating to go out in the woods and see all the wonders that it has to offer and I like to share with others on here too.

Re: Need help identifying shrooms please

I have been hunting morels for about 30 years so I am no stranger to things.....there is NOOO way that I am gonna just stuff any old fungi in my mouth before I know whether it is poisonous or not lol. This has been a weird year. I only found a handful of morels this year but I have been having a banner year finding every other mushroom on this planet in a very small area lol.

I haven't found any hens yet though sniff sniff :( I am in the thumb area so maybe in another week or two?

Re: Need help identifying shrooms please

The first one is possibly one of these and an amanita
for sure.

Here's 3 variations of Herciums in case you want to
put the actual name with your picture.

Plenty of good free shroom books at the library.
I usually check them out at the library before
I decide to purchase a new one.

Re: Need help identifying shrooms please

I am for sure going to head to the local library this winter to do some studying on shrooms other than morels and the normal ones I pick!
