Lost my tripod mounting plate in the woods!

I took my camera into the woods with me on Sunday, and at the end of the day noticed that the quick release mounting plate I had attached to my camera had fallen off. (Luckily I have a spare that came with the tripod.)

I was all over Wexford Co., but the last place I looked on Sunday was in the Harrietta Hills. (Found 1 half-free...other man I met there found 1 false morel..the ash trees are really falling victim to the Emerald Ash Borer here)

I noticed it gone while in the Harrietta Hills, and tried to retrace my steps, going from ash tree to ash tree but had no luck finding it. I could see my footprints on the two-track where I had been, but did not find it.
I always keep the plate mounted on my camera, and think I lost it in the Harrietta Hills because that was when I first found that my camera didn't feel "normal."

So if anyone finds a small black tripod mounting plate in the woods...it's most likely mine! (If you do let me know! )

Ditto story to Justapickn here. Buddy had carved it for me. I know where it is at roughly but was never able to find it. I've flat out given up after 3 years now.

Jeff... next time you head up this way message me if you like. We can go on a forage, lunch or something.

I found a nice yellow soft-sided mushroom bag underneath a dead elm tree a few years ago. I've been using it ever since...

A few years ago,I lost a very nice walking stick with a carved morel on the end.
My son had just given it to me for mothers day. I had left it leaning on the truck, didn't remember until at least two hours later on the drive home. I was so heart broke! I just keep telling myself that it made someones day when they found it!!
