I know I told you it rained hard up here, but it didn't make it north of town. I went out the next day and it was dry as a bone in the woods. However, it's been raining again, I think for quit some time. This time I hope it makes it north of town. The Chanterelles I last found were small & drying out. We need this rain to pull the season out. Also found some very nice Pleurotus pulmonarius.

Chickens, of course, and Lactarius volemus, indigo and several other Lactarius. I'm not very good on Boletes, Tylopilus, Suillus and Leccinum, but there are several out now that are edible, a few Russulas, parvirescens & aeruginea. Macrolepiota procera should be out or coming soon. Actually, there should be quit a few others too.

Blewets are an early Fall mushroom that grows in leaf litter. They are real easy to grow at home too. Rake piles of leaves up and when you find some older, or fresh ones, bury them in the leaves. By next year they'll most likely be growing. I live in the woods and people dump their leaves down the 2 trax. I just hunt those piles of leaves and get all I need.Try googling Blewet Bombs too. It's a way to grow them on cardboard. Here's some from last fall, along with some Chatharellula umbonata ( Graylings )
