Leaf blower mushroom hunting....

I have about 4 acres in southern Jackson, Mi. lots of leaves. I mean LOTS!. Would a leaf blower tear the morels out of the ground?

Re: Leaf blower mushroom hunting....

please please please, do not use a leaf blower. if you remove the leaves, you remove the material that keeps the ground from evaporating all the water out of it. the leaves are beneficial and you need to just be patient and wait for them to poke up. if you rape the ground of leaves, you're going to destroy habitat and environment for not just mushrooms, but many other organisms that exist in the woods. if you find some, just pick what you can see and be thankful that you got them. tearing the leaf litter apart accomplishes nothing and is not good for the ecosystem.

Re: Leaf blower mushroom hunting....

Yeah that statement was very inappropriate. Did I mention that my husband is Mexican.

Re: Leaf blower mushroom hunting....

When I seen Joe`s comment, I took it as the illegals that are hired by commercial harvesters that raid public lands. Use racks to rape the land and take morels. It pisses me off too. Not the nationality of the pickers, the fact that commercial harvesters rape our public land.

Re: Leaf blower mushroom hunting....

The only ones I have seen racking the woods spoke Spanish. They came in on a bus. Looked Mexican to me. I do not believe any one said any thing about only Mexicans can be illegal.
