Re: Autumn olive, Cherry tree finds

i'm really gonna try and locate some of those funny lookin morels you have there. I am gonna check out the autumn olives when i see them. maybe the ground will be peppered with them one time! morels are crazy. the more i hear about all these different habitats the more ground i have to start checking and looking for throughout the year.

Re: Autumn olive, Cherry tree finds

I checked some of those Autumn olives today but didnt have any success. They were on the edge of an old field in a dividing row of apples, elm, and some other woody shrubs. no luck though. the elms were all long dead and the apples are just too healthy i think. apple has to be pretty distressed to pretty much dead for me to locate morels around them.

Re: Autumn olive, Cherry tree finds

i'm gonna try and find a spot that looks more like that one. i wonder if those kind of morels even exist in my area of the state. I did find a morel under a multiflora rose bush a couple years ago. just happened to spot it. i didn't think anything of it other than it was weird. maybe i should get back to that spot a little later in the season when other areas are winding down and just see what happens!
