All Greys

Spent Friday morning in my favorite mushroom woods in southeast Michigan. Came away with 3.5lbs of greys. Lots of smalls . Went back with my sister Saturday and got another 2.5lbs. Should be good for whites this week . Good luck to all!

The past few years the giant wild cherry were the big producers. Trees with 3ft+ trunks . This year all size trees were producing. Hunted 10 hrs fri & sat and found 3 whites. Pretty confident that the next shot of rain and heat will pop a ton of whites. Wish I could hunt all of the next week but work is cramping my hunting.

Re: All Greys

Thanks for the reply Bill.

most of my forest of wild cherry are either mixed with white pine, oaks, or black locust. to date i have not had much luck with them cherry trees. only once have i found morels growing from cherry (right from the exposed roots). only one year that happened. check the same tree every year and others of course. i'll keep trying them though! something has to give with them sometime.

Blows my mind. Been reading about cherry producing for years. Therefore, been wearing out boot leather checking them for years. Never found anything by cherry trees unless a heavy hitter was near ( elm, ash, apple) I've found them near cherry up north, but always mixed in with big ash. Never have I once absolutely been able to associate a single find to a cherry tree without question.

We drove a 1/4 mile down the road from where we picked those and hunted a identical woods and ridge. Tons of cherry with autumn olive with wild rose as a bonus. We found ZERO ! They grow where they grow......
