My daughter Kerry

Many of you are aware that my daughter Kerry has Cystic Fibrosis. Her local lung specialist recently told her that if she would consider a lung transplant she best be making arrangements. She agreed and the doctor put her on Ňthe listÓ. To make a longer story shorter, Kerry just got back from a first meeting with the lung transplant unit in Ann Arbor. This meeting was just to get my daughter indoctrinated with what to expect while waiting for a suitable set of lungs, the surgery itself, and after the procedure was performed. Kerry met the U of M pulmonologist assigned to her who will be acting in concert with her primary doctor here in Grand Rapids. She will be returning to Ann Arbor in the next few weeks to undergo a series of exhaustive tests to establish her score and to meet the doctors. She has been told that it may be a year or so before the transplant would occur. However, it could be less and then again more time Đ itŐs hard to judge. ItŐs scary stuff, but we believe with GodŐs help itŐs her only shot of making it very much longer. On the upside, they have made much progress regarding fighting rejection and providing a quality of extended life for transplant recipients. We would appreciate any of your prayers. I believe this forum, on this board, has a listening ear in high places.

George, Please let Kerry know that we are thinking of her and praying for her in this long battle. She must be thrilled and scared about the transplant, it's going to be tough for her, but she has fought hard for many years. May God bring Kerry healing and blessings.

I have often wondered how Kerry and the boys were doing. I pray that she can get the transplant and live many more years and get to raise her family. May God be with all of you.

God bless,

George, I was just asking at the dinner how your daughter was. Like Tracey, she continues to be in my thoughts and prayers and like Ken, I often wonder how the boys are doing. Please let her know that she has many friends here wishing her the best. The best to you and Glenda also. We have really missed you at the dinners. Judy
