rain rain and more rain

Its been a gentle rain most of day and weather said it will continue thru nite and tomorrow morning oh goodie goodie.went out on a scouting mission early this morning andfound things progressing well lots of "shoom food' growing in all the right places so the good stuff should have lots of nutrients to dine on and grow. Some of my favorite spots don't usually flush till around mid to late October so this rain is just perfectly timed and I'm off work to make it even better.. M

I went out sat./sun. in three different woods, found zero. With the cooler weather & moderate rain last week I thought for sure it would produce something. How long do hens grow & what temperature is to cold for them?

Hens will come up until mid October, but once the frost point comes into effect, they start to become a wilted mess, but then comes the Blewit, Chicken fried, wood ears, and finally the mouse, mike

Just got back from a little jaunt in the bush. Came home with 6 Maitake off one old reliable tree that I thought I'd better grab and one bag of pear-shaped puffballs which the folks love at the market. It's really dry (I know, broken record) and I'm wondering if honey's are even going to fruit again. This season I can say that chanterelles, cinnabars, indigo milkies and boletes have not fruited, and obviously, they won't. Honey's fruited very briefly. So far, no grassland Agarics or Black Trumpets either. 80% of my known hen spots have not produced and if we don't get rain, Blewits might not fruit either. I hate to sound so dismal, but for some of us the season may end sooner, than later.
Would you believe that rain was forcast every day this week, and so far, none. Driest Summer in 54 years here.
