Lady bugs

Hello, Fellow gardeners.
I would like to know if any of you have ever ordered lady bugs by mail, to control insects in your garden?
If you have, how well did they work, and do you have to order each year?

Also, do any of you roast tomatoes for cooking?

Donna

Donna, you normally have to order ladybugs for 2 years in a row to complete the reproductive cycle of them( long drawn out explanation), but your best bet is to find someone who sells praying mantis egg cases, they come back year after year, after one initial growth or hatching, they are the most efficeint garden predators anyone can introduce, and roasted tomatoes are essential in all of my Italian cooking, mike

George, I bought 2 egg cases four years ago, and released them in the garden, my insect problems are pretty much gone, and now I find 30 to 40 cases a year around the house and yard, mike

Donna, Mantis normally live on shrubs, plants bushes and so forth, so if they spray for mosquito's on them, then yes it will kill the mantis'es also, mike
