Chants & Chickens

I dont have to much luck finding good/clean chants in my neck of the woods. 80% of my finds are wormy.

Re: Chants & Chickens

I thought it was a strange looking coral, but it might be a caulifower in the early stages. There were about six of these ranging in sizes from a baseball to softball size. Here is another photo of a second one.

Nice ones. I can't find a chant anywhwere in Illinois to save myself. Found a lot of boletes and all kinds of others ( all full of bugs and far passed prime). It been hot and humid in the woods.

Jason, yes they are hard to see, except for the head which is black, the rest if the critter is small and almost translucent. If ever you find a shroom with the pin holes in the stem, take a sharp knife and cut along the tunnel that they created, you will find them.
