Chants & Chickens
I dont have to much luck finding good/clean chants in my neck of the woods. 80% of my finds are wormy.

Here is my try to post a photo of a chanterelle. This was found today. I am in the same boat as Woodbutcher, almost all mine had worm holes????
I have added a couple more photos. One is some type of coral the other is Indian Pipes. |

Congrats on the finds guys.I always thought that the Indian Pipes were pretty cool.I'm going to try to get out this weekend,hope the chants I find are'nt wormy also and Trumpet Trails are loaded...

I thought it was a strange looking coral, but it might be a caulifower in the early stages. There were about six of these ranging in sizes from a baseball to softball size. Here is another photo of a second one.

Nice ones. I can't find a chant anywhwere in Illinois to save myself. Found a lot of boletes and all kinds of others ( all full of bugs and far passed prime). It been hot and humid in the woods.

Jason, yes they are hard to see, except for the head which is black, the rest if the critter is small and almost translucent. If ever you find a shroom with the pin holes in the stem, take a sharp knife and cut along the tunnel that they created, you will find them.
