Sweet Tooth and Ramps

Ramps for breakfast in the morning, with hash browns and eggs.

This first pic. is for some people that do not know, or have not seen a ramp patch this time of the year.

The second pic. is of a few ramps and some Sweet Tooth (Dentinum repantum) that i found this morning.

I will have to pass on the protein laden sweet tooth ,not a pin hole in the stem, yet the caps were full of worms. All but 2 small caps.

Now what ??

Ted, each one of those little white flowers will turn into a black seed, drop to the ground and you know the rest. They also multiply off of runners underground.

My best luck harvesting them is by digging them up. Once you have a void, it is easy to grab the bulb and bent to the side, they will snap off at the right spot.

Re: Sweet Tooth and

Thanks Lenny. The next time I go I will take my little planting spade with me. I see those flowers everywhere!!! Regarding the schoomer, we where just talking about how the darn Bugs start in the caps. I am hoping that the fall will be better for me after the first frost. I can't tell you how many forests I have been in here in IL and nada for me. All kinds are up but totaly buggy. Bringing home some ramps wouldn't be to bad!!
