Hey, Hey, Hockeytown!!!!

Here is the cup in all it's glory! Thursday was an unbelievable evening. The first picture needs no introduction!

The second picture is my sister, who works for the Wings. She is the one who made this all happen! Her and her co-worker!

And the third as Jon requested, my ugly mug next to the greatest sports trophy of all times!!!

Re: Hey, Hey, Hockeytown!!!!

Now it was really cool as well because of course there is a "Keeper of the Cup" that travels everywhere this thing goes. He was very interesting to talk to. His name was Mike Bolt and boy you should of heard some of the stories he had when it was just him and I talking over a beer or two at the bar. I was sworn never to repeat any names or situations, and being a man of my word...I will not!

First picture is him "observing" the going ons around the cup.

Second picture is him and my sister as the cup is preparing to leave my parents house.

And the third is Mike whisking away the cup to another location.

Here is an interview with Mike on a New York news station...

And another interview telling some pretty neat facts!

In this interview(which is already posted in the previous post)...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08GnA...eature=related

At the very end he explains to the interviewer, and he told and showed me the same thing when I asked how do you know if it's the "real deal" he shows the Hockey Hall of Fame emblem which he said is the version that skated around on the ice by the players and is used in any public appearances.

I snapped a quick picture that didn't turn out very good...

Re: Hey, Hey, Hockeytown!!!!

After the cup left my parents house, it went to my sister co-workers parents house and they partied with it for a bit. We then went to a bar in Alpena and had the experience of being there as they carried in the cup and watched the people go NUTS!! It was GREAT!!

I got a short clip of my sister and her co-worker carrying in the cup. It was pretty dark, buy you'll get the audio effect...

http://s112.photobucket.com/albums/n...rty2008137.flv

It was so great hanging at the bar with the cup, and being with the "Keeper of the Cup" and two DRW employee's. We had our own little section, and was all roped off. There was about 300 people at the bar.

The first shot is one of the crowd...

Second picture is one I got with myself and three of my best friends...

The third picture was all the siblings and husbands/wives. My two sisters, my wife and my brother-in-law. It was so funny too, because whenever any of us approached the cup, everyone else let us get our pictures taken. Everyone was so appreciative that it was brought, and allowed to be touched/photographed free of charge. They kept telling me, and I was like, "Go tell those two women over there. They are the ones that made all this happen. I'm just along for the ride."

Re: Hey, Hey, Hockeytown!!!!

Here is what it looked like around the Cup when we weren't around it. I will admit though, for how chaotic it was, everyone respected the heck out of that piece of hardware! Way to go citizens of ALPENA!!!

Second picture is WBKB TV interviewing Kelli and Lisa. Good thing they didn't have as many micro-brews as I did!

And lastly...Thank you Lisa, Kelli, and Mike for making part of my Stanley Cup dreams come true. Due to that last second goal in game 5 of the Finals this last spring, I missed part one of my dream....But come June 2009, they will be back for a chance again! GO WINGS!!!!

Yep! That little guy looks almost in as much awe of the cup as you. Not quite, but almost.

But he is cuter. LOL
