Chloropyllum rachodes and Boletus

Taking my que from others about the shaggy parasols being up. I decided to check my fairy ring patch from last year. All I can say is "I do believe in fairy's!!!". I just checked last week and they weren't up yet. Got there early enough this year to get some buttons and caps that were still convex.

Also found more boletes. There seems to be two or three types. One is yellowish with reddish/brown spots and the other two are shades of red or brown. The six kings in one of the pics was at the base of an old apple tree. For the most part all my large boletes were found among mixed hardwoods.

The deer have been eating some caps. At least they're leaving me the stems. lol

Almost forgot.... Honeys are just starting to come out. We need more rain as the ones I found were close to water and the other bunch was inside a hollow log.

Great pictures, Bayesoft. I love that last one. That's a hunk of good eating there.

Re: Chloropyllum rachodes and Boletus

Thanks guys.... This is my second year hunting these woods full time. Timing is everything and I couldn't have done it this year without this site and it's active members/mushroom hunters. This has been the greatest year I've had for edibles from start to finish.

This winter I'm building a large solar dehydrator. I have a feeling come next year I'm going to need it. Thanks to everyone.
